Camp Timberlane Centre for the Arts
Timberlane is proud to announce the brand new Centre for the Arts. The revamped arts program consists of Creative Arts, Performing Arts, Media Arts and Culinary Arts. The program is designed to give campers a chance to have fun while learning new skills both beginner and advanced. Each program is run by talented specialists.
Rock of Ages
We are pleased to be offering an exciting new
program for the musical kids in our Timberlane
family. Rock of Ages optional for those who love
the idea of spending more time playing/practicing music
at Camp.
The campers will meet on a regular basis with our talented
music staff who will work with them as a band or a small
group. The Rock of Ages kids will have ample opportunity
to shine over the summer with special performances they
will give to the Camp. At the end of the summer they can
also take home a demo tape recorded in our multi-track
Timberstudio. If you have any questions regarding this
new program please contact our camp office.
Drama & Theatre
Timberlane welcomes campers to the stage with the Theatre and Performing Arts program. Campers will learn the basics or develop existing skills with our talented acting, singing and performance coaches. Each age group will have the joy and the honour of practicing and presenting a full-scale theatrical production during the course of the summer. Performing on stage or working behind the scenes is a memory that will last a lifetime. Timberlane also offers Drama Workshops where campers can learn the art of improvisation – an excellent tool that can be used in public speaking, as well as performance. The camp is the audience and the world is a stage!
Culinary Arts
Learning to cook can be fun! We’ll prove it this summer. That’s because we have created a custom kitchen to compliment our new Culinary Arts Program! From desserts to gourmet dishes campers will learn the basic fundamentals of cooking and creating. Favourite recipes will be compiled into an end of summer Cookbook.
Dance
Timberlane’s dance program will teaches campers how to move and how to put it all together with exquisite instruction and choreography. From traditional styles of dance to hip hop, our staff offers classes for the beginners and the advanced. With supervision, campers are encouraged to work together to form their own dance routines, enabling leadership and strength within their cabins and with other friends. In August we offer a specialized Dance Camp. In this 7 day program campers will have 3 hours of instruction per day by some of Canada’s leading choreographers.
Arts, Crafts & Jewelry
Creative expression can now be explored with Timberlane’s Arts & Crafts program. Campers can make art in a variety of different ways and at Timberlane they’ll experience them all. Make jewelry out of beads, leather, macramé or boondoggle; create a piece of art by painting, collage or by using chalk. Candle-making, sculptures, and copper enameling are traditional camp favorites. Our textiles program includes tye dye and silk screening. Our on-staff artists help you explore all the ways campers can make beautiful and memorable arts and crafts, to take home at the end of the summer.
Woodworking
Under the watchful eye of our expert carpenters, imaginations will run wild in the world of woodworking. Learn how to work with all the instruments of the trade, such as small saws, sanders and etching tools to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Campers are encouraged to add their own personal touch to projects like small shelves, jewelry boxes, picture frames and personalized name signs, all of which are created in Timberlane’s workshop.
Pottery & Textiles
Campers learn the art of pottery with Timberlane’s Ceramincs program. With our classic wheels and kiln’s, our pottery studio provides yet another means for creative expression. Pottery pieces can be painted or exhibit illustrations, combining numerous artistic skills into one piece of art.
