Food at Camp:

Keeping campers satisfied at camp is critical to their well-being. Our Chef and his team design menus that keep kids’ tastes in mind, while emphasizing nutrition and balance.

We serve three meals per day, as well as two snack periods in the late afternoon and before bedtime. All meals are buffet style. On Friday nights we have a traditional dinner complete with roasted chicken, potatoes, freshly baked challah and chicken noodle soup. Our staff help campers make healthy choices so that they are getting enough food at each meal and ensure they are eating a balanced diet. In addition to our regular menu, a salad bar is available at all meals to provide fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy protein alternatives.

Food service at camp is served kosher style. We are capable of accommodating vegetarian, gluten free, lactose free and other special dietary needs.

THE TUCK SHOP

Each camper receives tuck, on average, three times per week. Our camp fee includes all regular tuck shop purchases, including snack and beverage items, as well as replacement toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shampoo.

Our Peanut/Tree Nut Awareness Policy

At Camp Timberlane, we are dedicated to creating a Peanut/Tree Nut Aware environment. This means we do our utmost to ensure that all our food is free from peanuts, tree nuts, and their derivatives. We take this commitment very seriously, treating any product labeled “may contain traces of nuts or peanuts” as if it definitively contains these allergens.

To safeguard everyone’s well-being, we implement the following measures:

  • Each summer, our staff receives updated training on the dangers associated with peanuts, tree nuts, and related products, especially in relation to children and adults with severe allergies.
  • We consult with parents of children who have known peanut or tree nut allergies before camp begins. This allows us to fully understand the severity of the allergy, identify the symptoms, and be prepared to implement the necessary emergency procedures in the event of an allergic reaction.
  • Every child with an anaphylactic allergy will carry, or have immediate access to, an EpiPen at all times.
  • All staff members are trained on how to properly administer an EpiPen during pre-camp training.

Our priority is to ensure that no one is exposed to any risk, so that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable experience at Camp Timberlane.
